The Team is almost finished with the last preparations of the Supercars for the 2011 Season, and will be doing a short function test at Bira this week before heading up to Sa Khaew for the First 2 races of the season this coming weekend 28th and 29th of May 2011.

Aki’s 996 RS Porsche jas been in Japan over the winter and have had the engine, rebuilt and have had the whole car checked up to ensure his best performance this year. Aki has also signed a new contract with Yokohama for the 2011 season, which will see him driving on the best suited race tires for each track all season.

The Car arrived in Thailand Yesterday and will be prepared and fitted with this years sponsor stickers before going to Sa Khaew. Aki will be among the favorites for 2011 Supercar N/A Championship, and is wide expected to finish in top 5 overall in the Championship which includes all the more powerful Turbo’ed cars also.

Thomas, ended the season in 2011 as 5th overall and 3rd in the Team Championship, on equal points with the second placed team, after having had to drive the last 2 races of the season in a Retro car, due to his gearbox failing consequently causing an overrev that blew up his engine at the qualifying session in Bangsaen.

Thomas has spent the offseason preparing his car with a new and slightly smaller engine, with 2400 cc, the car has also been fitted with a new gearbox and a new Turbo, and have a complete new electrical system installed into the car. Khun Tawee from Tawee Motorsport has spent several months of work on the engine, preparations, and on the suspension, and components related to the suspension to try and make the car handle better compared to previous years.

Thomas has this year also had windows fitted to his car, and a few other small things which hopefully will make the car even more competitive. At the start of the season in 2010 the car qualified in 5th and 6th place for race 1 and 2, and for race 3 and 4 the car qualified in 3rd and 4th place, and for the 5th and 6th place the car qualified on 1st and 2nd place, and for the last race of the season in 2010 at Bangsaen the car qualified 3rd and 1st on the grid, so if this is anything to go by, the car in 2011 will be very competitive.

The first race of the season is always the first possibility where the drivers have the chance to compared to other drivers where they stand competitively to the other drivers. One thing that is for sure, is that None of the other drivers have spent the offseason relaxing, so they have likely all done a lot of improvements to their cars also. Toyota This year is rumored to have prepared 2 or 3 brand new race cars built and developed at ARTO TRD in Bangkok, and they are top favorites for the 2011 Championship currently although nobody yet have seen their cars. Craig Corliss and his team Partner from Invasion Motorsport will also be very powerful, and will likely be challenging for the Supercar N/A Championship, but might even be able to fight for the Overall Championship because of their combination of speed and reliability. A-Motorsport will in 2011 again be a force to be reckoned with, and will be one of the favorites for the Overall Supercar Championship also.

We will also be a lot wiser on Sunday evening after the first 2 races have been raced.

The races will be shown on National TV from 2 PM onwards.
